The Outdoor Guide Foundation has a simple aim; to make the outdoors more accessible for all.
We will be doing this through a number of different projects – the first of which is the Waterproof and Wellies Project.
Our goal is to donate 10 sets of wellies and waterproofs to every state primary schools in the UK, all 20,000 of them!
All we need now is your help.
Why is this project needed?
The pandemic has had a devastating impact on kids’ education and their ability to play outside. Over the past two years primary school aged children have missed out on almost a third of their learning time.
The pandemic has also pushed more families into poverty, with a third of primary school children living below the poverty line. This means there are many kids who do not have the basic tools to go outside.
We need to act now, so all children can learn to love nature before it’s too late.

What are in the kid’s Waterproof and Wellie kits?
- A high-quality pair of waterproof trousers
- A waterproof jacket with a hood
- A pair of Dunlop wellies
These kits allow children to jump in puddles, roll around in the mud and kick through leaves without messing up their school uniform.
The waterproofs and wellies are suitable for children of all ages. The schools will all be given a mixture of sizes to ensure this.
