Support The Foundation
Nature should be part of every childhood. Your support can help make that a reality for the children who are most likely to miss out.
By partnering with The Outdoor Guide Foundation, you can remove simple but powerful barriers that stop children taking part in outdoor learning. Together we can give more pupils the kit they need to get outside, stay dry and feel they belong.
Why your support matters
In classrooms across the UK, the same children sit out when the weather turns. Families living in poverty often cannot afford waterproof coats and wellies. Schools want to take learning outside, but they cannot do it fairly if some children do not have kit.
At the same time, we know that regular time in nature supports children’s mental health, behaviour, confidence and learning. When pupils can step outside in all weathers, it changes the feel of the whole school day.
Waterproofs & Wellies is our flagship project. For around £39.50 per child, we fund and deliver a complete waterproof kit (jacket, trousers and wellies) to state primary schools in areas of greatest need. Your support can scale this simple, practical solution.
How partners make a difference
As a corporate partner, trust, supporter or major donor, you can change the picture not just for one child, but for whole classes and stat primary school communities.
What your support can do
- £3,950 could equip 100 children across several schools.
- £5,000 could underwrite a targeted kit drop for schools in one local area.
- £10,000 could make you an Area Partner, funding kits for multiple schools in a region and helping us plan larger deliveries.
- £25,000+ could support a major roll-out of Waterproofs & Wellies alongside wider nature and wellbeing activity in schools.
We work with you to match your budget, footprint and priorities to schools, focusing on local areas that matter to you and where your support will have the greatest impact.
Every partnership contributes to our immediate goal of raising £150,000 in 2026 to equip thousands more children with Waterproofs & Wellies, and to our longer-term vision of placing at least 10 kits in every UK state primary school.
Spotlight on WWF
We are proud to count WWF as a key supporter and strategic partner.
WWF’s Happy By Nature schools programme aims to bring a daily dose of “Vitamin Nature” to one million children by 2028. It is an ambitious, hopeful vision; children spending more time outdoors, feeling connected to the natural world and understanding their role in protecting it.
The Outdoor Guide Foundation plays a practical part in that story. Through our Waterproofs & Wellies project, we help remove the very ordinary barrier that prevents many children from getting outside: not having a waterproof coat and a pair of boots.
WWF’s decision to work with us sends a clear signal. It shows that our approach is trusted, that our governance is strong and that our work sits comfortably alongside the priorities of one of the world’s best-known environmental charities.
We are now seeking to build similar bridges with other organisations that care about children, wellbeing, education and the natural world.
